Job Title: Accounting Assistant – Temporary (Indiana)
Classification: Non-exempt, Hourly
Length of Temporary Assignment: February – June

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will serve as an integral team member to the back-office support staff.

REPORTS TO
• Accounting Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Serve as point of contact to address billing questions, adjusting customer accounts as necessary
2. Prepares daily cash receipts into account records, assuring proper general ledger classification
3. Prepare or process monthly invoices as necessary
4. Responsible for month end reconciliation and analysis of assigned general ledger accounts and following any end of month processes before monthly invoices are generated
5. Assist with Accounts Receivable duties including AR check processing, AR account reconciliation of payments and invoices, monitoring collections
6. Assist with Accounts Payable duties including AP Email classification, invoice entry, inventory adjustment analysis and entry, purchase order reconciliation
7. May assist with or perform billing/pricing tasks as necessary:
o Billing and service modifications due to new accounts/account changes
o Quality-control for residential service pricing
o Check billing exceptions, accounts on hold, or other billing situations
o Update employee services accounts at onboarding/offboarding

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
• Adept at written and verbal communication
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to run reports/compare data
• Ability to evaluate situations and adjust to changing priorities

QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong skills in MS Office applications
• Associates’ degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute)
• Candidates which have the following will have priority:
o Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or related field
o Experience with various accounting software

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• 40 hours per week
• Office Environment
