We like to think of ourselves as the little ISP that could. We started life as a dial-up Internet Service Provider and quickly evolved into one of the Midwest’s leading providers of wireless Internet service in rural markets in Indiana and Illinois. Building and maintaining a large wireless network requires a ton of knowledge and expertise, and along the way, our customers grew to recognize and count on that expertise. As a result, they increasingly called on us to assist them when faced with technology challenges.

At the same time we were building some of the earliest wireless networks, we started to delve deeply in to areas of the new IP-based world that interested us. We helped develop the base code for the Asterisk open source telephony project, we were pioneers in hosted voice applications, and we jumped into hosted applications and virtualization. The outcome was the same, our partners and business clients asked us to show them the way with these new technologies. Our consulting work and business continued to grow.

We knew we had a special team of technology experts able to work with companies in parts of the country that were starved for top-quality IT consulting and expertise. The result has been very powerful, and Joink has seen double digit growth in our clients and revenues every year since our founding. Today, we are applying our expertise across our eastern Illinois/western Indiana footprint and nationwide as we extend Joink fiber to more and more premises and connect those premises to our own cloud and content providers and the internet in general.
