FAQs
Fixed wireless internet uses radio signals to connect a fixed location to a nearby tower. It can provide high-speed internet without the need for cables, making it a good option for rural or remote areas where fiber infrastructure might not be available.
No, Fixed Wireless is terrestrial based (using infrastructure on land, not sattellites in space) and therefore has significantly lower latency and faster speeds than any satellite technology with shorter signal travel distance. Fixed wireless networks also provide easier access for any necessary maintenance, repairs, or equipment upgrades.
No, a phone line is not needed for fixed wireless internet access. Our equipment will be affixed to your home to receive the wireless signal from the closest tower.
No, our fixed wireless and fiber internet plans come with unlimited data usage. You will not be billed extra, nor throttled for your usage levels.
No, the internet is a shared technlogy and no consumer-focused technlogy will guarantee speeds. The speeds you experience can also be limited by multiple factors including the age of your devices, device capability, and the number of devices connected at your home or business. Think of it like roads…we’re going to plan to have enough lanes to handle most traffic, but there are times where there will be congestion. This is true of DSL, cellular, satellite, cable DOC-SIS, fixed wireless, and even fiber. Typically since we build our networks with this in mind, you should not notice any congestion, even during peak hours.
It can be, but we aim to install with such a strong signal that you will not experience any service issues during most weather events
Yes, our fixed wireless network gets refreshed roughly every 5 years, with ongoing maintenance and upgrades in between. There is not a single piece of electronic equipment in our fixed wireless network that was in place when we began offering fixed wireless. With the equipment upgrades and improvements in the technology, the speed and reliability has improved.
A technician will survey your home or business for the best signal at your location, review the install plan with you as far as the location of the outdoor antenna required to receive service, the cable path back into the home or business, and optimal location of the router.
Sure! Give us a call at 812-234-5100 to determine if you are eligble for a faster wireless speed, or if fiber is now available in your area. With ongoing fixed wireless equipment upgrades and new areas becoming eligble for fiber, you may be eligible for a different offering than when you initially signed up.
