Job Title: VP of Finance

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Joink, LLC was founded as an Internet Service Provider, providing dial-up, DSL and fixed wireless broadband Internet services.  Today, the company provides connectivity for customers who span the landscape from residential to enterprise using technologies that include leased lines, unlicensed wireless, licensed wireless, and fiber optics.  Also, the company provides managed hosting services including virtual machine, web/email, and offsite backup storage.  And finally, the Company’s technology services group leverages its enterprise knowledge of networking, software, storage, and telephony technologies to provide design, installation, and continued supported around key technologies from companies such as VMware, Cisco UCS, IBM, Veeam and Microsoft.

POSITION SUMMARY

This executive will direct and oversee the organization’s finances, make projections, and manage financial risk. This individual will work with various forms of data to understand current financial health and make predictions about future financial health, as well as provide advice to the executive team regarding the increase of profit with reduction of financial risk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Participate in Performance Management for reports, including:
    1. Motivate the team, daily, to meet goals for the day.
    2. Discipline
    3. Coaching
    4. Training/Development
    5. Performance Appraisals
    6. Making recommendations to Management for pay adjustments.
    7. Working with Management and HR where necessary to resolve employee grievances or complaints.
  2. Establish financial guidelines and processes for each department in the company, creating processes for tracking expenses.
  3. Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and tax preparation.
  4. Devise strategies to save the company money through driving and evaluating cost-saving initiatives, identifying ways to use resources more efficiently.
  5. Set financial goals and provide a strategy on how to achieve them.
  6. Oversee compliance with finance, accounting, tax, and other industry legislation/regulations.
  7. Coordinate and manage investment plans and insurance coverage for the organization.
  8. Automate reporting systems for accounting and finance departments, coordinating their preparation monthly, quarterly, and annually; responsible for ensuring data accuracy in reports.
  9. Create, implement, and lead company budgeting processes.
  10. Monitor all financial transactions and track revenue, expenses, and other financials.
  11. Oversee the company’s progress toward its revenue goals and advise the executive team as necessary.
  12. Collaborate with executive team to develop financial plans, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital-raising initiatives.
  13. Support current operations and growth through cash flow management, optimizing working capital, liquidity, and capital allocation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Expertise in written and verbal communication, including communication at both a business and technical level with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to track multiple details fluently.
  • Ability to evaluate situations and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of finance, accounting, tax requirements, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in commonly used financial software/tools.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • 40 hours per week
  • Office environment
  • Must be able to work overtime with and without notice.
  • Occasional travel for training and professional development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Indiana: Terre Haute; Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro)
  • 7+ years’ experience in finance (accounting, analysis, reporting)
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field and at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Candidates which have the following will have priority:
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
