ABOUT THE COMPANY

Joink, LLC was founded as an Internet Service Provider, providing dial-up, DSL and fixed wireless broadband Internet services. Today, the company provides connectivity for customers who span the landscape from residential to enterprise as well as other carriers using technologies that include leased lines, unlicensed wireless, licensed wireless, and fiber optics. Nearly all fiber-optic customers are served on Joink’s own fiber, which now spans over 1,000 route miles in west central Indiana and central Illinois. The company provides managed hosting services including virtual machine, web/email, and offsite backup storage as well as technology services and managed services, adding value to resold and integrated technologies from companies such as Cisco, Lenovo, Microsoft, Veeam, and VMware.

POSITION SUMMARY
The SMB Sales Associate is responsible for identifying new opportunities for Joink by visiting new and existing customers. This position is primarily outside sales, will report directly to the Vice President Sales and Marketing, and will work closely with department managers in aligning business opportunities in their respective areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Generates new sales with small to medium business customers within Joink Fiber Network
  2. Prepare offers and approach Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) owners and property management staff to negotiate entry and service to residents.
  3. Engages in Marketing Sales and Strategies within a Marketing Budget, including Door-to-Door business sales
  4. Engaging in sales outside the office up to 75 percent of the time
  5. Follows through on all customer requests
  6. Acts as lead person on preparing written proposals
  7. Acts as technical representative during initial contact with customer
  8. Works with management and marketing to devise new sales strategies
  9. Maintains active presence in all markets
  10. If applicable, organizes training programs with town libraries, schools, civic organizations, chamber of commerce, etc.
  11. If applicable, makes media statements on TV, radio, Internet on behalf of Joink subject to management approval
  12. If applicable, works trade shows or other hometown events
  13. Sells commissionable items at agreed rates
  14. Driving duties include utilizing personal transportation for most travel

  • High school education or equivalent (required)
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the field of computer science, computer technology, or business administration (preferred)
  • Proficient in the use of the Internet, Microsoft Office & Windows software
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to Terre Haute, Indiana.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday, both office and outside sales
  • Regular travel, usually less than 100 miles per week of reimbursable non-overnight travel
  • Occasional travel to industry conventions or travel, with reimbursable overnight travel usually limited to less than one week away
