ABOUT THE COMPANY

Joink, LLC (“Joink” or the “Company”) is a fiber and fixed wireless broadband provider that owns and operates +1,000 fiber route miles across Indiana and Illinois. The Company’s near-term focus is to further grow its fiber-to-the-home (“FTTH”) and enterprise fiber business. Recently, the Company acquired Computer Techniques, LLC, a FTTH company, based in central Illinois. Joink is backed by DIF Capital Partners (“DIF”), a global independent investment manager with EUR 15 billion in assets under management, and Gilead Group, a family office located in St Louis.

POSITION SUMMARY
This Executive will be a member of the executive team and will be an integral part of the company’s success, working with internal and external stakeholders, creditors, and investors to further grow Joink and maintain an optimal capital structure.

Executive should have a strong finance and accounting background and have the ability to lead a finance team.

  • Leading mergers and acquisitions, financial integration, and helping formulate strategies as the company grows
  • Collaborate with Executive Team in its aggressive growth strategy of rapid expansion of fiber to additional homes in many Illinois and Indiana markets (fiber to the home / FTTH)
  • Build, manage, and communicate a dashboard operating and financial metrics to help guide business decision making for the management team and the Board
  • Lead efforts in correct and timely compliance related financial reporting
  • Oversee weekly cash management, AP, large payables to always ensuring funds availability by preparing and maintaining a short-term and long-term liquidity forecast
  • Deliver interim, quarterly, and annual financials and flash reports on agreed upon timelines
  • Prepare contemporaneous footnotes to financials as well as audit-quality workpapers and be able to answer nuanced questions from multiple review audiences
  • Collaborate with other Company leaders to execute on financial and operational targets consistent with company’s short-term and long-term plan
  • Drive the annual budgeting process and support departments in financial goal setting
  • Provide revenue assurance and cost assurance throughout the year, making the annual financial audit as efficient as possible
  • Ensure the continuation of deficiency-free audits
  • Supervise accounts receivable management and provides guidance related to collections
  • Build, manage, and communicate a dashboard view of key financial metrics – including productivity
  • Lead the business analysts who will be migrating the financial reporting system to a new platform that will care for budgeting, G/L, transaction level auditing, financial statement presentation, job cost tracking, labor spreading, multiple warehouses, and automated migration of completed jobs to fixed assets and the associated depreciation
  • Integrate data and systems across platforms and teams to provide robust analytics for business guidance
  • Lead the capex strategy for deployment of fiber to new regions
  • Evaluate capital allocation across the company
  • Collaborate with sales team on occasion to review penetration, forecasting, and operating margins
  • Prepare project-specific financial models for inclusion with various grant applications
  • Keep abreast of best practices in key accounting functions, including audit best practices, and federal, state, and local law
  • Participate in the management and expansion of the relationship with creditors, including materials and supply vendors and equipment manufacturers
  • Monitor overall financial health, proactively identifying and raising concerns
  • Ensure a system of internal controls that protects the Company but also allows for growth of the business
  • Lead corporate acquisitions by providing support in terms of research, analysis, valuation, negotiation, scenario modeling, and arranging financing
  • Serve on the internal compliance and risk management committees

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA
  • 10+ years experience in financial discipline, prior CFO role or senior accountant and experience working with private equity/institutional investor(s) strongly preferred
  • Prefer CPA and public experience. If CPA status is inactive, substantial relevant experience working with audit firm and taxing authorities is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Possesses advanced accounting knowledge
  • Experience with cash and debt management
  • Experience with commercial accounting
  • Experience with telecom billing and/or ERP platforms preferred
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to Terre Haute, Indiana
  • Team player who is willing to “get hands dirty” and help where needed

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Generally, 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday
  • Occasional before work/after work meetings and events
  • Attend four in-person board meetings at various locations in the US each year
  • Travel as part of M&A, continuing education, and industry conferences
  • Less than 10% overnight travel
