Sam Evans; Tenor
Sam grew up in northern Illinois and was a "P K", you know, a
Preacher's kid. As such he was no stranger to religion and more
specifically was no stranger to gospel music. Sam tells an inspiring story
of how he first went to McCormick Place as a child and heard George Beverly Shea
sing "How Great Thou Art" at a Billy Graham evangelism service.
Let's just say Sam was impressed. Impressed to the point where he thought
God was coming back right then!
Sam's tenor tones are very impressive. He adds just the right pitch to
balance the sound like traditional male quartets do and he loves singing for the
Lord. If you get an opportunity to hear Crimson Cross sing, it isn't
difficult to see the enthusiasm that Sam has when singing for his Lord.
He's been a blessing to those whom he sings with, as well as those he sings to.
For the past 12 years he has lived in the Bridgeport Illinois area. He
accepted Christ at the age of 6 and has been singing in churches since he was 4.
First with his sister, then later with their parents. He attended Rockmont
Bible College in Colorado and graduated from Judson Bible College in Elgin
Illinois. He became an ordained minister in 1975. He's a Vietnam
veteran who loves his country and feels it's time for this great country to turn
to Jesus for answers.
Presently, Sam is raising two grandsons by his self and makes a living in the
Insurance business. The funny thing about this is that the best insurance
anyone can have for their family and their futures is to know Jesus Christ as
their personal savior. Hey Sam. I hope you aren't charging anyone a
premium for that policy, after all. it's a "FREE" gift from God.
(And Sam would be the first one to tell you that.)
