Today, the company provides connectivity for customers who span the landscape from residential to enterprise using technologies that include leased lines, unlicensed wireless, licensed wireless, and fiber optics. Also, the company provides managed hosting services including virtual machine, web/email, and offsite backup storage. And finally, the Company’s technology services group leverages its enterprise knowledge of networking, software, storage, and telephony technologies to provide design, installation, and continued supported around key technologies from companies such as VMware, Cisco UCS, IBM, Veeam and Microsoft.


This associate will work in the connectivity business unit helping to build an infrastructure capable of servicing our customers through fiber optics to the premise.

  1. Reads splicing records and splice fiber as directed by supervisor (as splicing is done color-to-color, the ability to distinguish matching fibers is required)
  2. Makes needed changes and documents test results
  3. Reads engineering drawings and correlates them to physical plant
  4. Assists in the coordination of OSP projects with other departments/vendors/clients
  5. Performs detailed visual inspections of OSP construction to determine quality of work being performed and that it meets company standards
  6. Assists in physical cable placement
  7. Maintains existing fiber routes and facility locates as directed
  8. Maintains all OSP equipment (i.e. fusion splicer, trailers, vehicles)
  9. Driving duties include travel from worksite to worksite, hauling necessary equipment


  • Must have a functioning knowledge of testing and troubleshooting fiber optic
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information
  • Keeps a calm and cool head in sometimes stressful situations


Key qualifications required to fill this position are:

  • Minimum of two years’ work experience related to telecommunications industry, with a focus on fiber optic splicing and testing.
  • Relevant outside plant construction experience
  • Ability to work after hours or on weekends occasionally as required for callouts, emergency locates, or emergency repairs
  • Able to work some overtime as needed and/or without advance notice
  • Able to be on call after normal hours on a rotational basis
  • Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to Terre Haute, Indiana.


  • Monday – Friday, 40 hour per week schedule with most work occurring between the hours of 6pm-8am
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying 100 pounds
  • Almost exclusively outside, year round, in all weather conditions
  • Ideal conditions will be 25 degrees Fahrenheit and above. Work will likely be reduced to emergency repairs when temperatures fall below that threshold.
